Andressa Scabin is a biologist with a master's and PhD in Ecology, specializing in tropical forest ecology. She is one of the co-founders of the Instituto Juruá and has previously served as the communications director, executive director, and coordinator of collaborative education and community strengthening. Her more than six years of experience at the Instituto Juruá have allowed her to develop skills in managing third-sector organizations, project development and management, fundraising, team management, institutional communication, strengthening local associations and cooperatives, and designing and implementing courses and workshops. Since 2023, she has taken on the coordination of Protected Areas and Social Justice, aimed at supporting initiatives for the creation and implementation of protected areas. In the community-based private protected area program, she is supporting the development of a co-management model for a private protected area, in partnership with the AMAB (Agroextractivist Association of Baixo Médio Juruá).
