This site and all its content is the property of Instituto Juruá, a Brazilian civil society organization, with an environmentalist purpose, constituted as a non-profit civil association, Municipality of Manaus, State of Amazonas, at Rua Belo Horizonte nº19, The Palace Business, sala 612, Adrianópolis CEP: 69.057-060.

This terms and conditions of use agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, describes the terms and conditions applicable to the user’s access to and use of the Site. If you are under 18 years of age, please do not use and/or register on the Site without having the consent and knowledge of your parents and/or guardians. We do not voluntarily collect personal information from persons under the age of 18, as provided in the Privacy Policy.

  1. Definition of the Parties: Whenever there is mention of the terms “Site”, “we” or “our”, we are referring to Instituto Juruá; as well as whenever there is mention of the terms “you”, “user”, “your”, “your”, we will be referring to you user of the Site, who is consenting to these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to make use and access to the Site.

Site Features Our site brings together content (news and publications) produced by Instituto Juruá and partners based on studies, scientific data and reports covering socio-environmental and economic issues, allowing you to have reliable bases to generate reports, graphs, tables, spreadsheets, maps and other necessary content. Our goal is that the Site can help companies, industry associations, public agencies, civil society and other users to identify socio-environmental and economic opportunities and risks of investment and expansion, in addition to informing.

2.2. Site Changes and Disruptions WE MAY UNILATERALLY MODIFY THESE TERMS OF USE AT ANY TIME, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION, BY POSTING UPDATED TERMS OF USE ON THIS SITE. For your convenience, the last revision date is included at the bottom of this page. We recommend that, every time you access our website, you stay tuned for new updates, as your access and use of this website will be bound by any changes to these Terms of Use. 2.3. Information on the Site All information and Content available on the Site is intended to serve as a general information resource and is provided solely on an “as is” and “as available” basis. As the Data collected by Instituto Juruá, take into account information made available, in most cases, by third parties, as well as information that may be transitory. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CONFIRM BY YOUR OWN MEANS THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE SITE AND IN THE CONTENT. THE CONTENT AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION MADE AVAILABLE BY INSTITUTO JURUÁ SHOULD NOT BE INTERPRETED AS A COMMITMENT OR GUARANTEE OF QUALITY OR AVAILABILITY OF ANY PRODUCTS OR SERVICES OR RESULTS. INSTITUTO JURUÁ IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR USE OF THE CONTENT, AS WELL AS BY APPLICATION OF THE CONTENT IN YOUR BUSINESS AND THE RESULTS OF YOUR BUSINESS.

2.4.Availability of the Site We seek to ensure that the information provided is accurate, complete, current and that its use is uninterrupted and error-free. However, we cannot guarantee full-time operation of the Site, as it depends on services provided by third parties, such as telecommunications companies and internet access providers. In addition, we will suspend the use of and access to the Site in the event of unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure and in other cases that may impair the functionality of the Site and put users’ information at risk.

2.5. Location of Site Operation The Site is operated by Hostinger. We do not guarantee that the content on the Site is available or suitable for use in other countries. Those who choose to access the Site outside of Brazil will do so on their own initiative and will be responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.

User Obligations and Representations By using the Site, you represent and warrant that (i) all records and other information submitted, if any, are true and accurate; (ii) you will maintain the accuracy of any information provided; (iii) you will not submit any personal information if you are under 18 years of age; (iv) by using the Site you do not violate any applicable law or regulation; and (v) will not reverse engineer the Site;

Intellectual property of Instituto Juruá The Site, as well as any other texts, graphics, images, photos, illustrations, trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, information, source code, layouts, domain names, software, know-how how, and other materials are all protected by intellectual property rights (“Intellectual Property Law”). All Intellectual Property Rights present on the Site are owned by Instituto Juruá, licensed to Instituto Juruá or our partners (as applicable). Commercial exploitation, transmission, disclosure, modification, reproduction, copying or any other use of these Intellectual Property Rights by the user is strictly prohibited, unless expressly stated otherwise. It is forbidden to reproduce this content, in whole or in part, in any way, without the express approval of Instituto Juruá. 4.2. Reproduction of Content for Your Own Use Instituto Juruá allows you to keep a single copy of the Content for your personal use. Remember that the Content is indivisible, therefore, you may not use, copy or distribute separately any graphic, photo, text or other visual elements contained in the Content without the prior and explicit written authorization of the original author or Instituto Juruá . In addition, you may not, except as explicitly permitted on this Site, license, distribute, create derivative works from, transfer, sell or resell any information, content, including the Content, or services obtained through this Site. It is prohibited to “mirror” any content available on this Site on any other server without the written permission of Instituto Juruá.

4.4. 4.5. Sending unsolicited information It is Instituto Juruá’s policy not to accept or consider ideas, suggestions or creative materials, including, but not limited to, notes, drawings, concepts, comments, questions or answers, techniques, know-how or other information (“Submissions” ) different from those specifically requested. The intention of this policy is to avoid the possibility of future misunderstandings when projects developed by Instituto Juruá professionals are similar to the creative works of others. All Submissions, including unsolicited submissions and those made at the request of Instituto Juruá, will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary, and Instituto Juruá may use, enjoy and dispose of such Submissions as it sees fit. Instituto Juruá will not be responsible for the use or disclosure of any Submissions and you hereby acknowledge that nothing will be owed to you on account of the use or disclosure of the Submissions.

  5. Term These Terms of Use will remain in full force and effect as long as: (i) the services are made available on the Site and are not superseded by other terms of use; (ii) while the user is accessing the Site;

We may post notices or messages through the Site to inform you of changes to the Site, these Terms of Use, or the Privacy Policy, among other material matters.
  7. Applicable law and jurisdiction These Terms of Use, as well as the terms of the Privacy Policy will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The Central Forum of the Judicial District of Manaus, Amazonas, or the forum of the user’s domicile, is elected to settle any divergence arising from these Terms of Use, with express waiver of any other, however privileged it may be.
  8. General Provisions If any provision of these Terms of Use becomes invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be void and the remaining provisions will be maintained. Headings are for reference purposes only and in no way define, limit, determine the interpretation or describe the scope or extent of the respective section. Instituto Juruá’s failure to comply with any failure by you or others to comply with these Terms of Use does not waive our rights to act with respect to subsequent or similar failures. These Terms of Use establish the entire agreement and understanding between you and Instituto Juruá with respect to the subject matter of these Terms of Use.
