Fishermen’s knowledge of ecology and science have helped build a fishing model which transformed the lives of those who did not have many options of making a living and are saving a fish from extinction. Ana Claudia Gonçalves works for Instituto Mamirauá as a fishing management program coordinator, shared how this idea came to be.
